I dragged my wife up to Newcastle from London nearly 10 years ago, and for the first year or so she found it very hard. Thereafter, however, it got easier and easier. Two of the best things about living in Newcastle are (1) visiting London and (2) returning to Newcastle again. We both go to London regularly on business, and every three months or so take a long weekend down there with our two children visiting relatives and friends. The truth is that we probably see more of those relatives and friends than we did when we lived in London. Our carbon footprint is nonetheless probably smaller than it was before we moved up here, in that my wife works from home, and my journey to work is a 20 minute train ride. Getting abroad is ten times easier than it ever was in London in that we can pitch up to Newcastle airport within 15 minutes from where we live. We can afford a house big enough to put up friends and relatives with comfort, for a week at a time. Best of both worlds, if you ask me. What amazes me is that a lot more people don't do it.goshawkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14558886963238581043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37400848.post-4929525951992855452008-01-02T17:06:00.000+00:002008-01-02T17:06:00.000+00:00Hmmm..."A shot" of gamekeepers perhaps? Many camps have a "first drink rule": you can have your first drink of the day whenever you want, but as soon as you have it you're done hunting for that day. Well, we are a little more puritanical here, but that may be a good thing in this instance.

At any rate, your hunt would have been an interesting spectacle to take in.Shupachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02361205064760829488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37400848.post-81867469259107219862007-12-29T09:21:00.000+00:002007-12-29T09:21:00.000+00:00Bramble whisky recipe please!Bramble whisky recipe please!dollshouselinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02467375274765003366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37400848.post-4866492077818260162007-12-29T06:03:00.000+00:002007-12-29T06:03:00.000+00:00I hope you are having us all on and you did none o...I hope you are having us all on and you did none of these things at all, but were there picketing instead.
